# 🔁 Clear eBay Cookies & Switch eBay Accounts

#### What This Guide Covers

If eBay keeps signing you in with the **wrong account** when you try to connect it to PrimeLister — or you want to **disconnect one eBay store and connect a different one** — this guide will walk you through the full fix in two parts:

* 🍪 **Part 1** — Clear your eBay cookies so your browser forgets the old eBay account.
* 🔄 **Part 2** — Switch or add a different eBay account inside PrimeLister.

> 💡 **Tip:** Most "I can't connect the right eBay account" issues come from **cookies**, not PrimeLister. Doing **Part 1 first** saves a lot of back-and-forth.

***

#### When To Use This Guide

Follow these steps if:

* 🔁 You want to **switch** your connected eBay store to a different account.
* ➕ You want to **add a second** eBay account alongside the one you already have.
* ⚠️ You keep getting **automatically logged into the wrong account** when trying to connect eBay.
* 🔌 Your eBay connection broke and **reconnecting still pulls up the wrong account**.

***

#### Why Clear Cookies First?

When you log in to eBay, your browser saves a small file called a **cookie** that remembers you. The next time you visit eBay, it uses that cookie to log you in automatically.

This becomes a problem when you want to connect a **different** eBay account to PrimeLister. eBay will keep using the saved cookie and connect the *old* account — no matter how many times you try.

**Clearing your eBay cookies = signing out at the browser level.** After that, eBay will ask you to log in fresh, and you can enter the correct account credentials.

### 🍪 Part 1 — Clear Your eBay Cookies

#### Before You Start

Make sure you have:

* ✅ **Google Chrome** open
* ✅ The same Chrome profile you use with **PrimeLister**

***

**Step 1 — Open eBay**

Go to [**ebay.com**](https://www.ebay.com/).

> ✅ **You should see** your account name in the top-left corner (for example, *"Hi Leonard!"*). This confirms you're currently signed in with the eBay account we need to sign out from.

***

**Step 2 — Open Chrome DevTools**

**Right-click** anywhere on the eBay page and choose **Inspect** from the menu.

> 💡 **Shortcut:** You can also press **F12** (Windows) or **Cmd + Option + I** (Mac) to open DevTools instantly.

A panel will open on the right side of your screen — that's **DevTools**. Don't worry if it looks technical; you only need to use one tab.

***

**Step 3 — Open the Application Tab**

At the top of the DevTools panel, look for the **Application** tab.

If you don't see it, click the **»** (double arrow) icon at the top of the DevTools toolbar — a dropdown will appear, and you can choose **Application** from there.

***

**Step 4 — Clear Site Data**

In the left sidebar of the Application tab:

1. Click **Storage** (it's at the top, under the "Application" section).
2. On the right side, you'll see a big **Clear site data** button.
3. ✅ **Tick the checkbox** that says **"including third-party cookies"**.
4. Click **Clear site data**.

> ⚠️ **Important:** Don't skip the **"including third-party cookies"** checkbox — without it, eBay may still remember you and log you back in automatically.

***

**Step 5 — Confirm You're Signed Out**

Close DevTools and **refresh the eBay page**.

> ✅ **You should see** the eBay homepage with no account name in the top-left (the *"Hi \[Name]!"* greeting will be gone). That means you're successfully signed out and ready for Part 2.

***

### 🔄 Part 2 — Switch or Add Your eBay Account in PrimeLister

Now that your eBay cookies are cleared, let's manage the connection inside PrimeLister.

**Step 1 — Open My Shops**

Go to the **PrimeLister Cross-listing app** and click **My Shops** in the top navigation bar.

You'll see all your connected platforms listed under **All Shop Connections**.

***

**Step 2 — Open the eBay Actions Menu**

Find your **eBay** row and click the **⋮** (three-dot) icon on the right side, under the **ACTIONS** column.

A small menu will pop up with three options. Pick the one that matches what you want to do:

| Option | When To Use It |
| ---------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| 🔄 **Re-Connect** | Your existing eBay connection broke or expired and you want to re-authorize the **same** store. |
| ➕ **Add eBay account** | You want to **keep** your current eBay store and connect an **additional** eBay account too. |
| ⇄ **Switch Account** | You want to **replace** your current eBay account with a **different** one. |

> 💡 **Not sure which to pick?** If you want a totally different eBay store, choose **Switch Account**. If you want to manage multiple eBay stores at once, choose **Add eBay account**.

***

**Step 3 — Select Your eBay Marketplace**

After clicking your option, a window titled **Select eBay Country** will appear.

* 🇺🇸 Choose **United States** for **eBay US**.
* 🇨🇦 Choose **Canada** for **eBay CA**.
* 🌍 Click **Different Country** to expand the full list — UK, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and more.

Once selected, click the blue **Connect to eBay** button.

***

**Step 4 — Sign In With the Correct Account**

You'll be redirected to **eBay's login page**.

Because you cleared your cookies in Part 1, eBay won't auto-fill your old account anymore — it will ask you to log in from scratch.

> ✅ **Enter the username and password of the eBay account you actually want to connect to PrimeLister.**

After signing in, eBay will ask you to approve PrimeLister's access. Click **Agree** (or similar wording) to grant permission.

***

**Step 5 — Confirm the Connection**

You'll be brought back to **My Shops** in PrimeLister.

> ✅ **You should see** your new eBay account listed with a green **● Connected** status next to it. That's it — you're connected to the right store!

#### FAQ

**Why doesn't disconnecting in PrimeLister sign me out of eBay?** Disconnecting only removes the link between PrimeLister and eBay — it doesn't touch your browser session. Your browser keeps using the same login until you clear cookies, which is why almost every "wrong account" issue traces back to this step.

**Do I need to clear cookies if I'm just re-connecting the same account?** No. **Re-Connect** uses your existing account, so the saved session is fine. You only need to clear cookies when you want to connect a **different** eBay account.

**Will clearing eBay site data affect anything else?** No — it only affects eBay. You'll just need to log back in to eBay next time you visit. Your **PrimeLister account, inventory, listings, and other connected platforms are not touched**.

**Can I connect more than one eBay account to PrimeLister?** Yes! Use **Add eBay account** from the three-dot menu. Each connected eBay store will appear as its own row in **My Shops**.

**My country isn't shown in the "Select eBay Country" list — where do I find it?** Click **Different Country** in the dialog to expand the full list of supported eBay marketplaces (UK, France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, India, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and others).

**I cleared cookies, but eBay still logs me in automatically — what now?** Make sure you ticked **"including third-party cookies"** before clicking **Clear site data**. If it still happens:

* Try connecting through an **Incognito window** (this guarantees a fresh session).
* Or repeat Part 1 and don't visit ebay.com again until you're ready to click **Connect to eBay** in PrimeLister.

**Is using DevTools safe?** Yes — DevTools is a built-in Chrome feature used by web developers every day. You're not changing anything risky; you're just using the official "Clear site data" button that Chrome provides.
